An enforcement search was conducted at shop number C-109, Toy Joy, Prateek Grand City Walk Carnesia, Siddharth Vihar, Ghaziabad, by representatives from the BIS Ghaziabad Branch Office on July 5. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) recognizes that toys are required to be registered, and the Quality Control Order 2020 stipulates that toys must have the ISI mark. The team acted swiftly upon receiving information regarding violations of this requirement.
Legal Action Initiated Against Ghaziabad Shop
It was discovered that the shop was keeping and selling both electric and non-electric toys during the raid. According to IS 15644:2006 and IS 9873:2019 Part 1, the toys were not BIS certified, which is in violation of Toys (Mandatory Registration Requirement) Quality Control Order 2020.
The BIS Act of 2016’s Section 17(1)(A) stipulates a maximum term of two years in prison, a minimum fine of ₹2,00,000, or both. More than 100 toys were taken from the shop and put under guard; some were brought to the branch office for use as evidence.
A case is being filed for this violation in the honorable court. Legal proceedings are being initiated.

Mr. Naveen Kumar Arora, Joint Director of the BIS Ghaziabad Branch; Mr. Hariom Meena, Deputy Director; Mr. Rahul Kumar, Graduate Engineer; Raju Prajapati, and Suraj Kumar were all involved in the raid. The Ghaziabad Police Administration helped them, and their combined efforts made the raid a success.
