Milestone Marks Tesla’s Commitment to Building EV Infrastructure Across India

New Delhi: August 4, 2025

Tesla announced today the opening of its inaugural Supercharger station in India at prestigious One BKC complex in Mumbai. This is a significant achievement that demonstrates Tesla’s commitment to developing a sustainable electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem and supporting India in its transition toward sustainable mobility.

Supercharger Features and Pricing

Tesla launched a new Supercharger station that includes four V4 Supercharging stalls that offer ultra-fast DC charging, delivering a peak power of 250 kW along with 4 AC Destination Charging stalls with a charging speed of 11 kW. The cost of Supercharging is ₹24 per kWh, compared to ₹11 per kWh for AC charging. Tesla noted that, for example, a Model Y can gain approximately 267 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes, making long-distance travel ease and convenience for EV owners in India.

Seamless Charging with the Tesla App

With their Tesla mobile app, Tesla owners can conveniently generate, monitor, and manage an unlimited amount of charging sessions. The app allows them to view availability of every stall location in real-time, including monitoring the charging status, receiving notifications, and making secure digital payments; all of this contributes to seamless and integrated charging session for the owners.

Tesla Model Y Launch in India

Tesla’s launch comes at a time when they are rolling out the Model Y in India. It will be distributed in two variants, Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), which is priced at ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom), and Long Range RWD which is priced at ₹67.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The RWD model has either a 60 kWh or 75 kWh battery, with a WLTP-certified range of 500 km or more, while the Long Range model has a maximum range of 622 km on a single charge.
