The makers of Kajol-starrer legal drama The Trial unveiled the trailer of its much-anticipated second season on Friday, hinting at an intense storyline packed with personal and professional turmoil. As lawyer Noyonika Sengupta, played by Kajol, she is seen navigating new court cases while juggling her tense marriage to Rajiv Sengupta (Jisshu Sengupta), who was arrested for corruption and a sex scandal in the previous season.
The two-minute-eleven-second trailer opens with Noyonika smashing a photo frame with her husband’s picture, symbolizing the growing cracks in their relationship. Heated arguments follow, leading her to demand a divorce. Alongside, she is shown as a determined lawyer fighting high-stakes cases in court. A new twist unfolds as Rajiv enters politics, triggering more chaos when rivals exploit his past scandal to gain an advantage in elections.
The narrative takes a dramatic turn when Noyonika’s daughter is hospitalised, becoming a victim of political crossfire, pushing her to unleash her fiercest side as a mother. The trailer concludes with a powerful moment of her confronting an influential politician, vowing to protect her family at any cost.

The show is based on the CBS Studios production in collaboration with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions, and it is an official Indian adaptation of the critically successful American television series The Good Wife.
