Netizens dub it ‘Sasta Burj Khalifa’ even as Delhi-NCR battles flooding concerns.
New Delhi, September 4, 2025
Noida’s Supernova Tower has become the latest internet sensation after its spectacular appearance during the monsoon season captured the imagination of locals and netizens alike. The tall and sleek skyscraper, often regarded as one of the most iconic additions to Noida’s skyline, looked especially striking against the backdrop of dark clouds and rain-soaked surroundings. A video of the tower, shared on August 25, 2025, by a user named RV Vikas with the caption “Supernova Towers, Noida,” quickly went viral, amassing more than one lakh views within days.
Social media platforms were abuzz with reactions, as users compared the building to Dubai’s world-famous Burj Khalifa. While many admired its modern design and towering presence, others humorously dubbed it the “Sasta Burj Khalifa” or playfully called it “Bharat ka Burj Khalifa.” Some users shared that they had also captured the majestic view of the tower during the rains, while one witty comment pointed out the unusual traffic around the area that day. The viral moment highlighted not only the architectural appeal of the tower but also the way iconic city landmarks often spark cultural comparisons online.
However, the admiration for Noida’s skyline comes at a time when the broader Delhi-NCR region is grappling with intense monsoon rains. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow alerts for several parts of Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad, warning of further rainfall and thunderstorms. The relentless rainfall over the past week has pushed the Yamuna River past the 207-metre danger mark, a level it has crossed only five times since 1963. The surge in water levels inundated Delhi’s historic Nigambodh Ghat, forcing officials to temporarily halt cremation activities at the site. With the IMD predicting more showers in the coming days, residents across Delhi-NCR remain on alert as the monsoon continues to disrupt daily life.
