
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has promised free bus travel and a 50% discount on metro fares for all school and college students in its election manifesto, released Monday ahead of the Delhi polls. Announcing the manifesto, party leader and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal outlined 15 key guarantees, directly countering the BJP’s “Modi ki guarantees.”

Among other major promises, AAP pledged ₹2,100 per month for eligible women under the Mahila Samman Yojana, free education, travel, and hostel stay for Dalit students through the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Scholarship, and ₹18,000 per month for temple and gurdwara priests. The party also vowed to cancel incorrect water bills, ensure 24/7 water supply, and improve roads to European standards—projects delayed due to COVID-19 and legal issues faced by AAP leaders.

In response, the BJP has promised free education from pre-school to post-graduation for needy students, along with ₹15,000 financial aid and travel reimbursements for entrance exams. As both parties compete for support, their manifestos focus on appealing to students, women, and marginalized communities ahead of the elections.
