Tamil film star Vijay has entered the political arena by revealing his decision to join politics. He has also unveiled the name of his political party, which is Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam. In a statement regarding this development, the actor clarified that his party will not participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and will not lend support to any other political parties. This decision was made during the recently conducted General Council and Executive Council meetings.
In his statement, Vijay emphasized that politics is not just another profession but a sacred form of public service. The name of his party, “Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam,” can be loosely translated as the “Tamil Nadu Victory Party.”
The announcement was met with spontaneous celebrations among his fans. Speculations about the actor entering politics had been circulating for some time, given the tradition of film stars transitioning to politics in the state, with notable examples being the late veterans M G Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa.
