Airtel Announces Price Hike for Prepaid and Postpaid Plans: New Tariffs Effective From July 3

Airtel announced on Friday that it will increase the prices of its prepaid recharge and postpaid plans by up to 20 percent. This adjustment aims to boost the mobile average revenue per user (ARPU).  New tariffs for both prepaid and postpaid data plans will be implemented from next week. This announcement follows Reliance Jio’s announcement of new tariffs, which also saw a price increase.

Airtel Price Hike for Prepaid Plans
Starting from July 3, Airtel prepaid customers will face higher charges for data and calling plans. Airtel aims to raise the ARPU beyond Rs. 300 to maintain profitability while continuing investments in spectrum and network technology.

The updated pricing for each plan is detailed in the table below. The annual Rs. 1,799 recharge plan will increase by Rs. 200, and the Rs. 2,999 plan will rise by Rs. 600. All prepaid recharge plans include unlimited voice calls and up to 100 SMS per day, except for the last three entries, which are data add-on packs.

Airtel Postpaid Plan Price Increase
Airtel’s postpaid plans will also see a price increase, meaning customers will have to pay more for their monthly bills starting in July. The Rs. 399 plan, which offers one connection with 40GB of data and an Xstream Premium subscription, will soon cost Rs. 449. The Rs. 499 plan, which includes 75GB of data and subscriptions to Xstream Premium, Disney+ Hotstar, and Amazon Prime, will rise to Rs. 549.

Two other postpaid plans will also be affected. The Rs. 599 plan, offering two connections with 100GB of data, will increase to Rs. 699. The Rs. 999 plan, which includes four connections and 190GB of data, will be priced at Rs. 1,199. Both plans offer subscriptions to Xstream Premium, Disney+ Hotstar, Airtel Wynk, and Amazon Prime.

New Airtel Tariffs Effective in July
Airtel stated that the new tariffs for prepaid and postpaid plans will be effective from July 3. The revised pricing for prepaid recharge plans will be available on the company’s website next week. Postpaid customers will see an increase in their monthly bills according to the new plans.
