Amazon MX Player has announced its latest reality venture, ‘Rise and Fall’ a reality show that introduces a power-based hierarchy among contestants. The show, hosted by Ashneer Grover, marks the controversial entrepreneur’s return to the OTT space, this time not as an investor but as the mastermind of a high-stakes social experiment.

Derived from an international format originally produced by Studio Lambert and Motion Content Group for Channel 4, UK, ‘Rise and Fall’ follows a structured social experiment where contestants are divided into two groups—Rulers and Workers. The Rulers operate from the top level of a skyscraper, making key decisions that directly impact the Workers, who reside in harsh basement conditions and perform tasks to build a collective cash prize. The game is dynamic—Workers can rise to become Rulers, while Rulers who lose control can fall or face elimination.
