
Ashutosh Rana Steps Back into Theatre After 20 Years, Playing Ravan in Humare Ram

The veteran actor Ashutosh Rana returns to theatre after more than 20 years as Ravan in Humare Ram. This play has completed, 160 shows across India, is ready to lift its ban in Mumbai.
Speaking about his return, Rana said, “It has been stupendous and overwhelming. Theatre keeps an actor alert and provides the actor with real-time communication with the audience, unlike in cinemas.” He attributes to theatre the moulding of his art: “Basically, every performance differs, which is a wealth in experience for any actor.”

Discussing about his Ravan portrayal, Rana provides a unique perspective. “If Lord Ram had to take birth to defeat someone, that person must have been powerful. Now, the presentation of Ravan will astound the audience.”
Chhaava – the Historical Drama and the Spy Universe
Alongside Vicky Kaushal, Rana is also part of Chhaava. He says: “Working with young talent like Vicky keeps growing me. He is one of the most honest actors of his age.”
Along with this, he again will be reprising the role of Colonel Luthra in Bollywood’s Spy Universe. “All the movies in the franchise have been hits, and Luthra has found a foothold for himself. It really is a privilege to share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Hrithik Roshan, while the entry of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari is equally a phenomenal feat.”
