Attention bikers! Bikes and autorickshaws are not allowed on Mumbai’s Atal Setu, also known as the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL). The Mumbai Traffic Police have set rules ahead of the bridge’s inauguration. The sea bridge restricts motorbikes, autorickshaws, and tractors, while the maximum speed limit for four-wheelers is set at 100 km/h. Named after former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the MTHL is India’s longest sea bridge. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate it on January 12, as per the Chief Minister’s Office.
According to an official, vehicles like cars, taxis, light motor vehicles, minibuses, and two-axle buses will have a speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour. The speed is restricted to 40 km/h on the ascent and descent of the bridge.
