
Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das Dies at 83

Acharya Mahant Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ram Janmabhoomi Temple at Ayodhya, passed away yesterday at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow. According to a news release from the hospital, he was 83.

Acharya Satyendra Das had been admitted to the High Dependency Unit of the Neurology ward on February 3, following a brain stroke developed on February 2. Since then, he had been in critical condition.

On February 4, the Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, visited SGPGI to see how he was doing and prayed for his recovery.
Acharya Satyendra Das had been the chief priest of the newly consecrated Ram Temple at Ayodhya, carrying great responsibility for the temple’s spiritual and religious ceremonies. His death is a big loss to devotees and the religious community.
