
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) recently came out with the third part of its manifesto, named “Sankalpa Patra,” for the Delhi Assembly elections, that promises Welfare to wide sections of society, including women, students, the poor, and middle class.
Here are the promises in the BJP Manifesto:
For Women
Setting up anti-Romeo squads and Delhi’s first Women’s Police Battalion, Jhalkari Bai Battalion.
₹2,500 monthly assistance to poor women, ₹50,000 for daughters’ marriage expenses, and a pension of ₹3,000 for widows and poverty-stricken women.
Provide government hospitals with information on free cancer screening for women.
Provision of continued free travel on DTC estimates for women.
For Students and Youth
Laptops for bright students in Class 12, e-scooters for girls from government schools.
Training in new-age fields such as AI, 3D printing, and green energy.
A separate scheme funded to support seed funding and incubation centers.
A 20-lakh job and self-employment announcement.
For the Poor
3 lakh houses to slum-dwellers, piped water supply, free electricity, and subsidized healthcare amenities, along with free dialysis.
Community toilets, CCTV cameras, and police posts in slum areas.
For the Middle Class
Checking leasehold properties to freehold.
Welfare board for traders and longer validity for business licenses.
Carry on working 24×7 metro and bus services and piped gas connections to houses.
Governance
Committee: Setting up of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the issue of scams.
Collaborating with neighbouring states and municipal bodies to sort out issues like health and traffic.
The BJP hopes to address governance issues and indicated adoption of a policy with “zero tolerance” towards corruption. The 70-member assembly elections for Delhi will be held on February 5, and results will be declared on February 8.
