The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a notice regarding the board exams for Classes 10 and 12 for the academic year 2023-24. According to the circular posted on the official CBSE website by the Exam Controller, Sanyam Bhardwaj, the board exams will commence on February 15, 2024, and will continue for a period of 55 days, concluding on April 10.
The notice emphasizes that all institutions conducting exams should carefully follow the CBSE board exam schedule to avoid any date conflicts. Additionally, the notice has been sent to various organizations, including the Union Public Service Commission, Joint Seat Allocation Authority, National Testing Agency, All India Council for Technical Education, Council of Architecture, Indian Nursing Council, Central Teacher Eligibility Test, Staff Selection Commission, and University Grants Commission.
In the previous academic session 2022-23, the CBSE board exams for Class 10 were held from February 15 to March 21, while the exams for Class 12 took place from February 15 to April 5. The results for both classes were already declared on May 12, 2023.
Class 10 witnessed a pass percentage of 93.12%, which was a slight decrease of 1.28 percentage points compared to the previous year. Notably, the board has decided not to publish the merit list to discourage “unhealthy competition.” For Class 12 students, the pass percentage was recorded at 87.33%, showing a decline of 5.38% from the previous year’s results.
