Ceasefire Violation: Pakistani troops open fire again along LoC for 8th consecutive day

Pakistan continues its ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC), refusing to back down from its provocative actions. On the night of May 1 and 2, Pakistani forces opened fire from across the border, targeting Indian positions without any provocation.
According to the Indian Army, gunfire occurred in numerous regions of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, including Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Nowshera, and Akhnoor. Pakistani troops used small arms during the unprovoked firing.
This marks the eighth consecutive day of firing from the Pakistani side along the LoC, which began last Friday.
Meanwhile, the United States has extended its support to India. U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth expressed solidarity with India and backed its right to self-defense. He stated, “The United States stands with India and supports its right to self-defense.”
In a phone conversation on Thursday, India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth discussed the Pahalgam terror attack in detail.
