Central Government on High Alert After Employees Receive Suspicious Emails

New Delhi: In the wake of recent hoax bomb threats, central government employees are now facing a new security scare involving suspicious emails, prompting authorities to take swift action.

On Tuesday, many central government employees received identical emails, raising red flags and leading their representative association to call for an investigation.

The emails, which were sent to Central Secretariat Service (CSS) officers across various ministries, contained a link with the warning that failing to click it would result in the cancellation of their official email accounts.

The Central Secretariat Service Forum alerted on X(Twitter) : “Multiple Central Secretariat officers received a suspicious email today. @NICMeity @GoI_MeitY, please investigate and take appropriate measures. #CyberAlert #CyberSafety @AshwiniVaishnaw #CentralSecretariat.”

CSS officers play a crucial role in supporting the central secretariat.

The Forum has urged the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) to probe the issue.
