Champai Soren was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Friday. The JMM legislative party leader took the oath after Governor C P Radhakrishnan nominated him for the position the day before. The swearing-in ceremony took place at approximately 12:20 pm in the Durbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi. It is noteworthy that Soren’s nomination for the state’s top post came on Thursday, following his request to the Governor to promptly accept his claim to form the government in the state.
