Posters depicting Rahul Gandhi as Lord Krishna and his Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai as Arjun have sparked controversy in Kanpur. These posters were put up at various locations in the city to coincide with Gandhi’s arrival for his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. In the images, Gandhi is portrayed as Lord Krishna riding a chariot, while Rai is depicted as Arjun. The posters, arranged by Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) member Sandeep Shukla, were prominently displayed on the Mall Road, near the Cantonment, and in the Ghantaghar area.
Shukla, whose photograph also appears at the bottom of the posters, has not commented on the matter.
