MERI Moot Court Competition: Day 2 of the 3rd Intra College Moot Court Competition at MERI Professional and Law Institute focused on practical legal skills, as students participated in the semi-final and final rounds.

Out of 38 participating teams, six moved to the semi-finals after the preliminary rounds. Judges looked at the quality of legal arguments, research, and how well students followed courtroom procedures.

The semi-finals were judged by Dr. Aqsa Sikander, Advocate Vivek Shokeen (Additional Secretary, Rohini Court Bar Association), and Advocate Kartikeya Matta. They assessed each team’s understanding of the law and their ability to respond clearly to questions.

Two teams from the LLB 3-Year program advanced to the final round. The finals were judged by Supreme Court professionals — Shri Anand Mishra (Advocate-on-Record), Advocate Vishal Khattar, and Advocate Vandita Nain. They asked detailed legal questions and expected structured answers from both sides.

The team that won was appreciated for their preparation, argument style, and overall performance.

The competition is part of MERI Law Institute’s approach to give students a chance to learn law through practice. Prof. (Dr.) Lalit Aggarwal, Vice President of MERI Group, and Prof. (Dr.) Preet Singh, Principal of MERI Law Institute, played key roles in organizing the event.

Guest speakers Prof. (Dr.) Ramakant Dwivedi and Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Khurana also spoke during the event, encouraging students to think about how law connects with different fields and the importance of clear thinking in legal practice.
