As temperatures in Delhi reach unprecedented heights, the extreme heat has claimed its first victim. A 40-year-old man from Darbhanga, Bihar, succumbed to heat stroke at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital on Wednesday. Employed at a factory specializing in pipeline fittings, he was brought to the hospital by his roommate and coworkers early Monday morning. “He was living in a room without a cooler or fan and developed a very high fever,” said a doctor treating him, according to the Indian Express. His body temperature soared above 107 degrees Fahrenheit.
