“Dr. K. A. Paul Calls for Transformative Leadership in Telugu Politics: A Pressing Plea for Justice and Reform”
New Delhi, October 18, 2024
At a press conference in A.P. Bhavan today, Dr. K. A. Paul, international peace maker humanitarian and Praja Shanthi Party president addressed a range of national and regional issues, particularly focusing on the political situation in the Telugu states. His remarks covered a wide range of subjects, highlighting the challenges faced by the people and calling for transformative leadership across India.
Dr. Paul began by making a heartfelt plea to the Honorable Chief Justice of India and the judiciary to approach sensitive legal matters with careful and prayerful consideration. He emphasized that the essence of justice lies in fairness and urged the judges to make decisions that uphold the integrity of the law, particularly in cases of national importance.
Shifting his focus to Telangana, Dr. Paul voiced his concern over the students who recently turned to the Supreme Court, requesting more time to conduct their Group 1 exams. “Why should students have to run to the courts for something like this?” he questioned. Directing his appeal to Telangana’s Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, he added, “This is something the state should be handling. Our young people shouldn’t have to worry about bureaucratic delays; they deserve better.”
Dr. Paul also raised a serious a concern about the reliability of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in elections, drawing from his personal experience in Vishakhapatnam. He alleged that votes had been wrongly counted for BJP-TDP candidates during the elections. “I saw it myself,” he remarked, clearly troubled, “and the public deserves an election process they can trust.” He called for immediate reforms in how EVMs are handled, particularly with Haryana’s elections approaching.
Dr. Paul strongly criticized the Congress party for failing to keep its promises in Telangana, Karnataka, and Himachal Pradesh. He highlighted the party’s unmet commitments in Telangana and its broken promise to grant special status to Andhra Pradesh, a long-standing demand in the state. According to Dr. Paul, Congress’s failure to deliver on these key issues has damaged public trust.
Dr. Paul also spoke about the rising corruption in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. “People are fed up,” he said. He blamed both the TDP-led BJP government and Congress for allowing corruption to thrive. “Our leaders have failed us,” he added. “They make big promises, but they don’t deliver, and in the end, it’s the people who suffer.”
Dr. Paul also didn’t shy away from addressing the much-discussed Hydra case in Telangana. He accused the state government of using it as a distraction to steer attention away from the real problems facing the people. “It’s been weeks,” he said, “and we’ve seen no real answers. The public deserves better than to be kept in the dark.”
Concluding the press meet, Dr. Paul issued a heartfelt call for change in governance, making it clear that the people are losing faith in the current political system. He pointed to the failures of Congress, TDP, BRS, and BJP, saying that the people had been let down for far too long. “Our country is struggling under the weight of debt and corruption, and the public is crying out for leaders who will bring real development and reform,” he said.
