Revealing one of the biggest financial scams in South India worth a mind-boggling ₹80,000 crore or 10 billion USD, Dr. K.A. Paul, an evangelist and founder of the Global Peace Initiative. Speaking to the media at Andhra Bhawan in New Delhi, Dr. Paul revealed all about the alleged corruption linked to Godavari Bank Challa Project, an important irrigation and water management project to transform the agricultural sector of Andhra Pradesh. Mega Scam Exposed
Dr. Paul has accused a few powerful persons and corporate organizations for an attempt to exploit the project, imperiling Andhra Pradesh’s economic stability and public trust. He targeted Mr. Mega Krishna Reddy on allegations of financial impropriety charges. According to him, irregularities of ₹48,000 crore in the Kaleshwaram Project accounted by a CAG audit.
Releasing this mammoth project to those having a corruption tag attached to them will jeopardise the very cause and leave the state with unwanted liability, says Dr Paul.
Critical Charges
Dr Paul unearths important charges:
Election Graft: The Telugu Desam Party and Jana Sena Party have reportedly received an election kitty of ₹44 cr through electoral bonds.
Polavaram Project Criticisms: While receiving enormous funds to this decade-old irrigation project, the government of the day fails to complete this project within due time, criticizes the opposition.
Corporate Molestation: Allegations on the corporate house demanding unequal agreements for which it lobbies sidelining the well being of people
“These are not just violations of the constitution, but also betrayal of the people of Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
Dr. Paul said that he has received threat mail that claims he will remain silenced. Calmly, he replied, “The stakes are high, and the forces of corruption will stop at nothing to silence voices like mine. But I will not back down.”
Dr. K.A. Paul Demand to Stop River Interlinking Project
Taking a strong stand against the Godavari-Krishna river interlinking project, Dr. Paul demanded Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan to stop the project. He declared that he would go on an indefinite hunger strike outside Pawan Kalyan’s residence if his demand is not met.
Dr. K. A. Paul called upon the state government to implement reforms with transparency and justice:
A transparent tender process: open and fair bidding with independent audits.
Reliable contractors: tender contracts to organizations with reputations for integrity.
Local employment: use the projects to generate jobs for the youth of Andhra Pradesh.
“Chief Minister Naidu owes a fiduciary duty to act in the best interest of the people. It is time to stand up against corporate lobbying and protect public trust,” he alleged.
Dr. K.A. Paul‘s Judicial intervention warning
If these contracts are given to some fraudulent people, I will move court for this purpose,” said Dr. Paul while warning, “If this project is compromised, I will approach the courts to protect Andhra Pradesh’s future.” As Proverbs 11:1 puts it: “The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him.”
Earlier a staunch supporter of Chandrababu Naidu, Dr. Paul expressed frustration over the functioning of the state. “I’ve stood by Mr. Naidu during crucial moments of his career, but I cannot go with the unscrupulous methods that would be detrimental to Andhra Pradesh’s future,” he said.
Dr. Paul reiterated his commitment toward the eradication of corruption and moving on toward justice. “People of Andhra Pradesh deserve leaders who look out for their well-being rather than personal gains. It is a cause for every sacrifice,” he concluded.
