Dream Girl 2 is making its mark at the Box Office with Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead. After a four-year dry spell, the actor seems to have finally found a film that could surpass the 100 crore rupee mark in domestic Box Office earnings. Early estimates suggest that the film has garnered around 50 crore rupees in net collections over five days by Tuesday. While this figure is lower than what Dream Girl 1 achieved in its initial five days, it’s still a positive sign considering the ongoing popularity of “Gadar 2” at the Box Office.
Here’s the day-wise Box Office collection of Dream Girl 2 after five days (net collection):
Friday: 10.69 crore rupees
Saturday: 14.02 crore rupees
Sunday: 16 crore rupees
Monday: 5.42 crore rupees (early estimates)
Total: 51.63 crore rupees
In comparison, Dream Girl 1, released in 2019, collected 7.43 crore rupees on its first Monday and 7.40 crore rupees on Tuesday, totaling to 59.85 crore rupees in net earnings over five days. Although Dream Girl 2 lags behind these numbers, its primary goal is to enter the 100 crore rupee club before “Jawan” hits the screens next week.
The Shah Rukh Khan-starring film “Jawan” is enjoying immense popularity, and it’s expected to dominate the Box Office upon its release on September 9. If positive word-of-mouth spreads, which seems likely, it might even impact the success of “Gadar 2” at the Box Office. There’s a strong possibility that Dream Girl 2 could easily surpass the 100 crore rupee mark before the upcoming Friday and could even surpass the earnings of “Bala” (110.97 crore rupees) to become Ayushmann’s third-highest-grossing film in India of all time. However, the film’s performance this week will play a crucial role in determining this outcome.
