In an Interview, Darsheel revealed that he has never asked Aamir Khan for work, despite their special history.
“People ask me why I don’t ask Aamir sir for a role, but I feel shy. He’s not my brother that I can just call up and say, ‘Get me a script.’ I just wish him well on his birthday that’s my way,” Darsheel said, adding that he deeply respects Aamir’s work.
Taking the Long Road: Earning Roles Without Favors
Darsheel Safary, who gained recognition for his role as Ishaan Awasthi in Taare Zameen Par, revealed that all his work post-pandemic has come solely through auditions.
“I prefer auditions and screen tests. It tells me whether I’m right for the part, and helps the filmmakers assess my talent fairly,” he said. “That’s how I’ve chosen to build my career.”
From Child Star to Versatile Actor
After his breakthrough role in 2007, Darsheel featured in films like Bumm Bumm Bole, Zokkomon, Midnight’s Children, Kacchey Limbu, and most recently Phule. Audiences still associate him with the emotional weight of his debut, but his performances continue to evolve with depth and maturity.
Sitare Zameen Par: A Full-Circle Moment
