‘Jawan’ Box Office Collection: Shah Rukh Khan’s Film Sets Record as the Fastest Hindi Movie to Surpass Rs 1,000 Crore Worldwide

Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film, ‘Jawan,’ has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the quickest Bollywood movie to cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark in global box office earnings. According to the trade platform Sacnilk Entertainment, ‘Jawan’ also holds the record for being the fastest Hindi movie to reach a net collection of Rs 500 crore in India.
‘Jawan’ has not only received both critical acclaim and commercial success but has also shattered numerous box office records. It made history as the first Bollywood film to reach the Rs 1,000 crore milestone in less than 10 days, solidifying its position as the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of all time on the global stage.
In an impressive feat, ‘Jawan’ surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s previous record with “Pathaan” (which took 27 days) to achieve the Rs 1,000 crore worldwide gross collection milestone.
Shah Rukh Khan has now become the first Indian actor to have two movies (‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathaan’) each earning over Rs 1,000 crore at the global box office in the same year. Previously, SS Rajamouli held the record for being part of two movies (‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘RRR’) that earned over Rs 1,000 crore at the global box office.
The Hindi version of the film earned Rs 389.88 crore in its opening week in India and an additional Rs 136.10 crore in its second week, bringing its total collection to Rs 525.98 crore within the first two weeks of release.
Subsequently, the film continued its successful run, grossing Rs 7.60 crore on its third Friday and approximately Rs 13 crore on its third Saturday, pushing its total box office earnings to Rs 546.57 crore.
On Sunday evening, ‘Jawan’ had an impressive 46.91 percent occupancy rate for its Hindi screenings. The film sold a staggering 6,19,886 tickets from tracked shows in India alone, earning around Rs 13.11 crore on its 17th day. Notably, ‘Jawan’ sold 1.05 lakh tickets in PVR, 68,870 tickets in INOX, and Rs 41,023 tickets in Cinepolis, accumulating a total of Rs 7.40 crore in ticket sales across national multiplex chains, as reported by film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan.
Billed as a high-octane action thriller that portrays “the emotional journey of a man determined to rectify societal wrongs,” the film features Shah Rukh Khan in dual roles as Vikram Rathore and his son Azad. The movie also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, with special appearances by Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt.
On Saturday, ‘Jawan’ surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ to become the highest-grossing Hindi-language movie in India of all time, with an estimated Rs 13 crore in earnings on its third Saturday. This achievement brought ‘Jawan’s total domestic earnings to Rs 546 crore, surpassing ‘Pathaan’s lifetime earnings of Rs 543 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
