Mika Singh Cancels Shows for the First Time in 24 Years Due to Health Issues, Faces Million Rupee Losses – Here's the Reason

Singer Mika Singh has encountered a significant setback in the past few months, stepping away from both the music scene and the public eye. He recently disclosed that his health took a serious hit, resulting in substantial financial losses and a profound lifelong lesson. In an interview with a news outlet, the Punjabi artist explained that he had plans to perform in several countries when he was struck by a severe throat infection. Medical professionals strongly advised him against traveling, leaving him in a dilemma. Despite trying to find a solution to proceed with the shows, Mika couldn’t bring himself to deceive his fans and audience. Consequently, he made the difficult decision to postpone all of his shows, even if it meant losing millions.

Mika, speaking with Hindustan Times, expressed, “In my 24-year-long career, this is the first time I’ve had to delay my shows due to health reasons. I’m always extremely cautious about my health and take all necessary precautions, especially when it concerns my throat.” He was in the midst of a world tour and had performances lined up in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Bali, and Australia.

Mika Singh’s Health Challenges: ‘Doctors Advised Against Travel’
The 46-year-old singer detailed that he had a 25-hour flight ahead to Australia, but medical professionals vehemently opposed the idea of traveling. “I tried to avoid making this decision, but the doctor strongly recommended against a 25-hour journey to Australia and performing. It would have had adverse effects on my health. The doctor advised me against traveling, which is why I didn’t even return to India,” he explained.

Mika Singh: ‘I Didn’t Want to Deceive the Fans’
Mika further elaborated that during a show in Dallas, he didn’t get sufficient rest and subsequently caught a cold, which eventually developed into a severe throat infection. Despite the financial setbacks resulting from the show cancellations, Mika emphasized that he was relieved to have maintained his integrity. He highlighted that he refused to resort to lip-syncing or playing pre-recorded songs, unlike some artists today. “It was crucial for me to postpone the shows instead of using playback or lip-syncing during a live performance, as some singers do now. All the hard work, reputation, and respect earned so far would have been tarnished,” he asserted.

Now, after a period of rest and completing his treatment, Mika is ready to get back to work. He stated that he’s doing much better now and is prepared to address all the pending commitments. His next step is to return to India for recording sessions, which will help offset the financial losses of 10-15 crore rupees incurred due to show cancellations. Mika also shared his plans to kick off his postponed world tour in January, promising an even more spectacular experience for his fans during the concerts.
