Ranbir Kapoor Discusses Dealing with Criticism and Responds to Accusations of Toxicity Following Alia Bhatt’s Viral Lipstick Revelation: “I Stand with the People…”

Actor Ranbir Kapoor recently shared his perspective on handling negativity and addressed those who label him as ‘toxic.’ Without an active presence on social media, he discussed his ability to avoid dealing with such criticism as a blessing. In a video shared by his fans, the star of “Barfi!” expressed, “Hey, I’m not on social media, so I don’t have to engage with it, which is actually a good thing. However, I believe that negativity is an essential aspect, particularly for artists. When you have work out there, both positivity and negativity need to coexist to maintain a balance. Often, various things are written about you as an actor, and many opinions are formed that may not necessarily be true. If you take it with a grain of salt, it’s because the image of me, crafted by movies, the roles I play, or the media, is not something I possess.”

Ranbir Kapoor further added, “It all belongs to the public, to the people who can appreciate or criticize my work, and they all are entitled to express their own opinions about me. As long as they give my work a chance, I’m fine with it. My primary focus has always been to prove myself as an actor.”
He also addressed an article that labeled him as toxic and linked it to a statement he had made. Ranbir acknowledged the accusation, stating, “I understand this, and I stand with those fighting against toxic masculinity. If they use me as a symbol for their cause, that’s perfectly fine because their battle transcends my personal feelings about their opinions on what I said. I see the bigger picture.”

In the world of Bollywood, controversies involving celebrities are commonplace. Recently, Ranbir found himself the target of online trolls after his wife, Alia Bhatt, revealed details about their relationship on social media. Vogue India posted a video in which Alia shared that she keeps her lipstick subtle because her husband prefers her natural lip color.
While Alia intended to share a cute aspect of her relationship with Ranbir, many social media users had a different reaction. In the video, she mentioned, “One thing my husband, even when he was my boyfriend, would say is ‘wipe that off, wipe that off’ because he always loves the natural color of my lips.” This led to several fans labeling Ranbir as a “toxic” husband and a “red flag.”
On the professional front, Ranbir’s next appearance will be in the upcoming action thriller film “Animal,” set to release on December 1. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film also stars Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna in leading roles.
