Fact Check: No blast at Jammu Airbase, Pakistan’s fake news busted by PIB
Social media claims of explosion at Indian airbase debunked with evidence of image misuse
Pakistan continues to encourage attacks along the Indian border, but the Indian Army responds forcefully and appropriately. Meanwhile, fraudulent posts are being shared on social media. One such tweet incorrectly said that an explosion had happened at the Jammu Air Force Base. However, the truth reveals a different story.
The PIB Fact Check has uncovered Pakistan’s unfounded claims of a bombing at the Jammu Air Force Base. According to the fact check, the photograph being distributed as proof of the incident is actually from a 2021 explosion at Kabul Airport.

Sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter), PIB Fact Check wrote, “An old photo is being circulated with false claims of multiple blasts at the Jammu Air Force Base in India. PIB Fact Check has verified that the image is from the Kabul Airport blast that took place in August 2021.” A link to a report from that time was also included in the post.
The post further advised, “Do not fall for misinformation. Always verify before sharing.”
Earlier, PIB Fact Check debunked Pakistan’s misleading claims about an alleged attack on Hazira Port in Gujarat.
The PIB explained that a video suggesting an attack on Hazira Port had been widely disseminated on social media. In actuality, the film depicts an oil tanker explosion on July 7, 2021, with no link to a current occurrence. The PIB encouraged people not to disseminate misleading videos.
In a different case, PIB Fact Check investigated a video that was misrepresented as showing a drone strike in Jalandhar. In reality, it was a farm fire footage.
