Google has launched its Gemini mobile app in India, offering support in English and nine Indian languages to simplify daily tasks.
On Tuesday, the tech giant introduced the generative AI chatbot app in Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The app, along with the advanced version, Gemini Advanced, will integrate these nine local languages, enabling more users to access information and complete tasks in their preferred language.
According to a company blog post, “Both the Gemini app and Gemini Advanced, which provides access to Google’s most capable AI models, will now support nine Indian languages, making it easier for more people to get things done in their native language.”
Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced the launch on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “The app lets you type, talk, or even add an image to get the assistance you need. For instance, take a picture of a flat tire for instructions on how to change it, or get help writing the perfect thank-you note – the possibilities are endless.”
