New Delhi, September 20, 2024:

A new Rajasthani food counter was officially opened today at Central Vista, the area in Delhi that houses Parliament, the Prime Minister’s residence, and other important government offices. Now, visitors to India Gate, as well as MPs, officials, and representatives from across the country, will have the chance to enjoy traditional Rajasthani food.

The food counter is located at Shop No. 8, on the southern side of India Gate. It was inaugurated by Mrs. Sushma Arora, Managing Director of RTDC, and Mr. Rajendra Singh Shekhawat, Executive Director of RTDC, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Mrs. Sushma Arora said that their aim is to bring the authentic taste of Rajasthan to people from all over the world. The menu currently includes popular dishes like Jodhpur’s Mirchi Bada, Pyaz Kachori, Kota’s Hing Dal Kachori, Jaipuri Samosa, Rajwada Kofta, Pushkari Bread Pakoda, Mawa Kachori, Jaipuri Rajbhog, Gulab Jamun, Jodhpur’s Milk Laddoo, Jaipuri Ghevar, Alwar’s Milk Cake, Motichoor Laddoo, Makhaniya Lassi, and Masala Chai. She added that this is just the start, and more famous dishes like Rajasthani Thali and Dal Baati Churma will be available soon.

Mr. Rajendra Singh Shekhawat said that RTDC is always trying new ideas to benefit society, whether through the Midway concept or the luxury train, Palace on Wheels. This food counter is another small effort to spread Rajasthani flavors around the world, while ensuring good quality.

The opening ceremony was attended by officers and staff from Rajasthan government departments, along with the general public.
