Haryana Shines at 3rd National Finswimming Championship in Pune: Impressive Medals and Exceptional Performances

Haryana made a significant mark at the 3rd National Finswimming Championship, which took place in Pune from September 3rd to September 5th, 2023. The event was organized by the Underwater Sports Federation of India. Robin Tushir and Ishika Tushir delivered outstanding performances, securing impressive medals.

During the 3rd National Finswimming Championship held in Pune from September 3rd to September 5th, 2023, Haryana’s Finswimming athletes showcased their exceptional skills, bringing home numerous medals and trophies. Their achievements not only elevated the status of the sport in the state but also highlighted the promising talent within the Finswimming community.

Robin Tushir from Haryana demonstrated exceptional prowess, clinching three gold medals and a trophy for his remarkable performance. His achievements further solidified Haryana’s reputation in the field of Finswimming. Additionally, in the junior group, Rahul, Prince, Saket, and Tarun contributed significantly by winning silver medals in the Finswimming 4x100m relay competition.

The remarkable accomplishments of Haryana’s Finswimming athletes at the 3rd National Finswimming Championship in Pune filled the state with pride and showcased the tremendous potential and talent within the Finswimming community.

Among the talented participants, Ishika Tushir secured a silver medal, while Nishika Tushir claimed a bronze in the competition, underlining the growing synergy in Haryana’s Finswimming scene.

In the Senior Group Men’s category, Haryana’s Finswimming players (Shivam, Himanshu, Kunal, Ashish) demonstrated their strength and teamwork by winning a bronze medal in the 4x100m relay competition. The state’s women’s team (Nisha, Shagun, Sanmeet, Anju) also achieved bronze in the 4x100m Finswimming relay, earning respect and recognition.

The exceptional performance of Haryana’s Finswimming athletes showcased the remarkable potential and talent within the Finswimming community, emphasizing their extraordinary abilities. Mr. Achinta Kumar Pandit, the General Secretary of the Underwater Sports Association of Haryana and Treasurer of USFI, congratulated all the players for their remarkable victories. He praised their dedication, hard work, and commitment, noting that they serve as an inspiration for the Finswimming community and will contribute to a brighter future.

During the event, all Finswimmers received valuable information about anti-doping through an anti-doping awareness session conducted by Dr. Tapan Kumar Panigrahi, the Secretary General of the Underwater Sports Federation, in collaboration with the Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI) and the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA).

Numerous dignitaries graced the occasion, including Mr. R K Singh (SAI Coach) and individuals associated with Finswimming (USFI) from various regions in India.

Two international Finswimming experts, Ms. Yasmin Salama from Dubai and Mr. Ibrahim Gewida from Egypt, who formerly served on the CMAS Finswimming committee, were present for the 1st International Finswimming technical Course in India organized by the Underwater Sports Federation Of India.

Dr. Tapan Kumar Panigrahi, a Dronacharya awardee and the Secretary General of the Underwater Sports Federation Of India, provided participants with guidelines and instructions to motivate and guide them during the Finswimming Championship. The event marked a significant milestone in the promotion and development of Finswimming in India.
