At Delhi press conference, experts push for nationwide recognition of Electropathy to ensure structured education, practice, and patient access

Health professionals and advocates of alternative medicine on Thursday urged the central government to grant national-level legal recognition to Electropathy, also known as Electro Homeopathy, arguing that the plant-based medical system can offer cost-effective care for chronic illnesses that often lack lasting solutions in conventional treatment.

Addressing a press conference at the Press Club of India, Dr. Jaswinder Singh, President of the World Board of Complementary and Holistic Organizations (WBCHO), pointed to Rajasthan’s recent move to formally establish a State Electropathy Board as a model worth replicating across the country. On April 30, Rajasthan notified the formation of a five-member board to regulate and promote the system, marking one of the first official endorsements of Electropathy in India.

Dr. Jaswinder Singh, who is also the founder of Ebio Cares and has been working with patients suffering from conditions like Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and speech disorders, said the lack of national recognition has restricted the growth and credibility of Electropathy despite its reported benefits. He argued that a central law would allow for formal registration of practitioners, standardization of education, and structured regulation of the practice, factors that are essential for public trust and long-term integration into India’s healthcare ecosystem.

The press conference also highlighted political interest in the issue. In Uttar Pradesh, Minister Dr. Sanjay Nishad has raised the matter with top state leadership, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak. In Himachal Pradesh, a local society supporting the development of Electro Homeopathy has submitted a memorandum to the state’s Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil, calling for policy action.

Joining Dr. Singh on stage, Dr. Sandeep Kumar Gupta stressed the need to modernize traditional health systems through the use of information technology. He said such systems, including Electropathy, could benefit from streamlined diagnostic tools and improved delivery mechanisms, especially in under-resourced or remote areas.

Supporters of Electropathy maintain that it offers a holistic, plant-based approach with minimal side effects and believe that formal recognition would pave the way for broader adoption and innovation in the field. However, critics have raised concerns about the lack of large-scale clinical trials and standardized medical evidence to support its efficacy.

Despite growing regional support, Electropathy remains outside the purview of India’s officially recognized medical systems—Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy (AYUSH). Whether it gains national-level recognition will depend on the Centre’s willingness to legislate and regulate an additional system amid ongoing debates about the role of alternative medicine in public healthcare.
