Dharmendra, the seasoned actor, previously mentioned that he took the scene in stride and considered it a casual affair. Now, his wife and fellow actor, Hema Malini, has shared her thoughts on the matter.
The iconic “Dream Girl” of Bollywood was attending an event in Delhi, where she was asked to share her thoughts on the notable kiss scene between her husband and Azmi. Hema, who was there to promote her brother’s autobiography, stated that she hasn’t yet watched the film. Nevertheless, the actor-turned-politician proceeded to praise her husband’s performance in the movie, emphasizing his joy at returning to the screen after a lengthy hiatus.
Speaking about Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi’s Kiss in “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani”
According to a report by Zoom TV, Hema stated, “I haven’t seen it (the scene). I’m sure people have enjoyed the film. I’m really happy for Dharam ji because he loves being in front of the camera all the time. He enjoys it.”
In the film directed by Karan Johar, Dharmendra and Shabana portray characters who were lovers separated by fate and are later brought back together by their grandchildren in Delhi. Despite their feelings for each other, they decide to stay apart due to their existing marriages and families. However, when Rocky and Rani discover their relationship, they reunite them, leading to more drama and a shift in emotional dynamics within their own lives and families.
Dharmendra’s Take on Kissing Shabana Azmi in “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani”
During a press conference for the film in Mumbai, Dharmendra was asked about the kissing scene with his co-star. He humorously remarked, “Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend the premiere, but I’ve received a lot of messages from people. I said, ‘Well, this is like second nature to me.'” As the rest of the team chuckled, the veteran actor added, “If you want me to do it with my left hand, I can do that effortlessly too.” Karan Johar also commented on directing the scene, describing it as “wonderful” to witness. Shabana, on the other hand, focused on the experience of kissing a handsome man like Dharmendra, stating, “It’s true that I haven’t done much kissing on screen before. But who wouldn’t want to kiss such a handsome man as Dharmendra?”
Meanwhile, “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” continues to enjoy success in theaters, having grossed around Rs 67 crore nett in India. The film is expected to surpass the Rs 100 crore mark by the end of this weekend.
