‘I Am an Indian First’: Hina Khan responds to abuses and threats from Pakistani fans

Actress Hina Khan has been targeted by fans across the border as tensions between India and Pakistan rise, and she has not been silent in response. Pakistani fans, upset by her support for India during the ongoing situation, have been sending her abusive messages, unfollowing her, and even threatening to unfollow her.
In response, Hina Khan took to Twitter, addressing the issue head-on. She shared how, for most of her life, she had received nothing but affection from people across the border. However, after supporting her country before and after Operation Sindoor, things took a negative turn. Many of her Pakistani followers have not only unfollowed her but have also used offensive language, attacking her medical condition, family, and faith.

In her tweet, Hina made it clear that she didn’t expect anyone to support India, but she did hope for a basic level of humanity. She expressed disappointment that instead of mutual respect, the response from some fans has been filled with hatred and insults.
Hina also stated that her identity as an Indian is central to who she is. “I am not anything if I am not an Indian,” she wrote. She continued, “I will always be an Indian, first,” encouraging those who disagreed with her stance to unfollow her if they wished, as it did not matter to her.
The actress added that she had never used abusive language against anyone and had only expressed her support for her country. She pointed out that our words and actions reflect our character and that, despite the online hate, she would continue to stand by her country.
“No matter what, I will support my country. Jai Hind,” she wrote.
Hina Khan’s response highlights the tension that many public figures are facing in times of political unrest, as they balance their personal beliefs with the reactions from their followers.
