According to the IMD, there is a high chance of isolated, extremely heavy rain in parts of Goa and Maharashtra on July 15 and 16, with similar circumstances expected in Karnataka and Kerala on July 15.

Mumbai residents woke up to flooded streets on Monday as a result of heavy rain that fell around the city during the night. According to the India Meteorological Department, the monsoon has begun to shift downward, and numerous western and southern states are expected to get substantial rainfall. A ‘Red alert’ was issued for numerous locations in Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka on Monday.
The national capital region and Delhi also saw showers, which provided much-needed respite from the intense heat. The IMD predicted light rain and moderate winds in the Delhi NCR over the next few days but they did not issue a color-coded advisory for the area.
IMD noted in its forecast for the west, central, and south peninsula of India that there is a high probability of isolated, extremely heavy rainfall on July 15 and 16 in various places in Kerala, Karnataka, as well as in sections of Goa and Maharashtra.
Moreover, isolated periods of intense rain are predicted for Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh between July 15 and July 19. Additionally, on July 15, isolated, extremely heavy rainfall is predicted for Yanam, North Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha, and the Marathwada region, according to a forecast.
According to the IMD, there will be isolated areas of heavy rainfall in east and northeast India on July 15, 17, and 18, over Odisha; Arunachal Pradesh from July 15 to July 17; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on July 15 and 16; and Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar on July 15.
On July 15 and 16, there is also a chance of significant rainfall in Yanam, Karaikal, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, North Interior Karnataka and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Over the following five days, there is also a chance of heavy showers in Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, and in a few isolated locations over Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat state.
In the northwest of India, there is a good chance of sporadic, intense rain on July 15 and 18 over East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and East Uttar Pradesh. It is highly probable that there will be moderate rainfall in the following five days over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, and Delhi.
