Delhi and Punjab have received a ‘Orange’ alert, while Gujarat is on high alert with a ‘Red’ warning due to heavy rainfall and severe weather conditions.

The IMD has issued a ‘orange’ alert for extremely heavy rain across Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, and Eastern Rajasthan, as the southwest monsoon moves across the country six days ahead of schedule. Additionally, a ‘red’ alert has been issued for several parts of Gujarat because extremely heavy rain is predicted.
Red Alert in Gujarat:
On July 3, Surat, Valsad (south Gujarat), Navsari, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Kutch (Saurashtra-Kutch region), and Dwarka are likely to receive extremely severe rains.
Orange Alert in Northwest and Central India:
In Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Eastern Rajasthan, extremely heavy rainfall (115.6 mm to 204.4 mm) is predicted.
Comparable circumstances are anticipated in Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and East Rajasthan from July 3 to July 7, as well as in Gilgit-Baltistan-Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Muzaffarabad from July 4 to July 7.
On July 3, there is a chance of isolated heavy rainfall in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and West Rajasthan.
It is predicted that extremely heavy rain will fall over Uttarakhand until July 7 and on Uttar Pradesh on July 6 and 7.

Heavy Rainfall in Northeast India:
Over the next five days, Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal are expected to see continuous heavy to extremely heavy rains.
As a result of the Brahmaputra River swelling from the heavy rainfall, Assam is experiencing catastrophic floods. 38 people have died as a result of flooding, and three more have been recorded in the past 24 hours.
On July 3, Bihar is predicted to suffer isolated, very heavy rainfall, and Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya are predicted to have similar circumstances till July 4.
Southern and Western India:
Light to moderate rainfall is expected throughout Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Telangana till July 7.
Over the next five days, mild to moderate rainfall, followed by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected in Kerala, Konkan, Goa, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka, and Gujarat.
Extremely high rainfall is expected in the Goa, Konkan, and Madhya Maharashtra on July 6 and 7.
Weather Forecast for the Next 5 Days:
Over the next five days, Northwest and Central India will get light to moderate rainfall, as well as thunderstorms and lightning.
Southern and Western India: Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely in coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Lakshadweep, Goa, Kerala, and Gujarat.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated in Northeast India, affecting Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim, Nagaland, and Tripura until July 5.
The IMD recommends people and authorities in impacted areas to take the appropriate precautions and remain vigilant during this period of increased monsoon activity.
