Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL) marked the 78th Independence Day with great fervor and enthusiasm at its Corporate Office in Visakhapatnam.
The celebration was led by Shri Durgesh Kumar Dubey, IRTS, Managing Director & CEO of DCIL, who hoisted the National Flag in the presence of DCIL employees and their families.
In his address, Shri Dubey reflected on the illustrious 50-year history of DCIL, emphasizing its crucial role in maintaining navigational channels across the nation’s ports. He highlighted how DCIL’s consistent efforts have significantly contributed to maritime trade and the economic growth of the country.
Shri Dubey also spoke about DCIL’s ambitious future plans, mentioning several upcoming projects across the country. These initiatives are set to propel the company towards achieving its turnover target of Rs. 2,000 Crores for the current fiscal year. He stressed the strategic importance of DCIL in the port sector and expressed optimism that the addition of the indigenously built 12,000 Hopper Capacity Beagle Series dredger, named Godavari, under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Make In India initiatives, will further strengthen DCIL’s position in the dredging industry over the next few years.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of Dr. M. Angamuthu, IAS, Chairman of DCIL, Shri Dubey thanked him for his significant contributions in garnering support from various ports and stakeholders, which has been instrumental in improving the organization’s overall health.
Shri Dubey also stressed the importance of timely project completion, noting that it is essential for building client confidence and trust. While the company is making efforts to enhance its financial position through strategic interventions, he urged all employees to put in the extra effort required to ensure the company’s sustained growth trajectory.
As part of the celebrations, the MD & CEO distributed prizes and mementos to the winners and participants of various competitions held during the Independence Day festivities.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. P.K. Sethi, General Manager (HR). The program was attended by Capt. S. Divakar, CGM, Shri E. Kiran, CFO and other senior officials, employees along with their families.
