New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the opposition INDIA bloc for their comments on the ‘Sengol’, accusing them of disrespecting Indian history and Tamil culture. His remarks follow a growing political controversy sparked by Samajwadi Party MP RK Chaudhary’s critical comments about the presence of the ‘Sengol’ in Parliament.
“The Samajwadi Party has no respect for Indian history or culture. Their leaders’ comments on the ‘Sengol’ are condemnable and show their ignorance. It also reflects the INDI Alliance’s hatred for Tamil culture in particular. The ‘Sengol’ is a symbol of India’s pride, and it is an honor that Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi Ji gave it the highest respect in Parliament,” Mr. Adityanath wrote on X.
