In an unprecedented show of unity, political leaders from across India’s major parties convened at the Lee Meridien Hotel to declare their collective commitment to global peace. The historic summit, spearheaded by Dr. K. A. Paul, Global Peace President , was marked by a shared resolve to end wars and promote global harmony, with India at the forefront of these efforts.

The event was graced by the presence of BJP Senior leader M P. Parshottam Rupala, Rajya Sabha MP Santosh (CPI), Dr. PP Suneer (CPI), Gayatri Ravi chandra (BRS), Dr. V. Sivadas (CPM), and Dr. Faubiya Khan (NCP), as well as Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon, MP from Shillong, DMK Floor Leader Dr. Shiva, Congress MPs Balram Naik and Dr Mallu Ravi, and BJP MP Ramesh Awasthi.NCP M.P.Dr Faubiya Khan

Dr. K. A. Paul, opening the summit, emphasized, “War is not the answer. It’s time for India to lead by example and champion the cause of peace on the global stage. Our nation has the moral authority and responsibility to bring warring factions to the negotiating table and foster a new era of understanding.”

Mallu Ravi, former Union Minister and Congress MP, echoed these sentiments, stating, “Despite facing numerous challenges, India has remained steadfast in its commitment to democracy and peace. This summit underscores our collective belief that peace is not merely the absence of war, but a comprehensive approach to global stability.”

Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon, MP from Shillong, highlighted the impact of modern warfare, particularly on vulnerable populations, saying, “The 16th century witnessed over 59 wars, but today’s conflicts are more insidious, often targeting the most defenseless—our children. It is imperative that we work together to shield them from the horrors of war.”

Gayatri Ravichadra, Rajya Sabha MP from BRS, reinforced the need for proactive engagement, noting, “India must take an active role in such initiatives, becoming a global ambassador for peace. Our voice must resonate across borders, advocating for a world where diplomacy and dialogue prevail over conflict.”

The summit was attended by 12 MPs from various political backgrounds, all united by a common goal—to promote peace and position India as a beacon of hope in a world marred by conflict. The discussions focused on ongoing global issues, including the Ukraine-Russia war, the Israel-Palestinian conflict, Iran-Iraq conflict, and regional tensions in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
