JP Movement Veterans Unite to Drive Bihar’s Development and Fulfill Loknayak Jai Prakash Narayan’s Vision

At a press conference held at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi, the Janhit Dal, JP Movement veterans, and Janata Party announced the formation of the Bihar Development Alliance (BDA) to contest the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections. The event was attended by senior leaders, including Dr. Suraj Mandal, Anshumman Joshi, and Navneet Chaturvedi.

The BDA plans to field candidates in 55 constituencies, positioning itself as a third front in Bihar’s political landscape. The alliance aims to offer voters a transparent, development-oriented, and inclusive political alternative.

Anshumman Joshi, National President of Janhit Dal, stated, “In today’s politics, the voices of ordinary citizens and minorities are often ignored. To address this, the BDA has established a National Minority Committee to ensure political representation for Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, and other communities.”

Navneet Chaturvedi, President of the Janata Party, criticized so-called secular parties for merely seeking minority votes without offering them meaningful leadership roles. He emphasized that the BDA will empower minority youth, particularly Muslims, to actively engage in politics and lead their communities.

Dr. Suraj Mandal, a former MP and JP Movement veteran, declared, “The people of Bihar are ready for change. Those doubting this alliance will soon see its impact. Veterans who have led significant movements, like the Jharkhand Statehood movement, are now prepared to bring transformative change to Bihar.”

Asgar Khan added, “Our struggle is rooted in principles, not stubbornness. When principles are at stake, confrontation becomes necessary – and that is the true measure of patriotism.”

During the press conference, the leaders unveiled a symbolic “potli” (bundle), representing their commitment to delivering on promises and vision. They described this “Potli of Change” as encapsulating a new path for Bihar’s future, focusing on genuine minority representation, corruption-free governance, and development-driven politics. The leaders announced that this potli will travel from house to house to raise awareness and form the foundation of their election campaign.
