Tejashwi Yadav welcomes second child, brings cheer to Lalu family amid strain

The arrival of Tejashwi Yadav’s second child brings a moment of joy to the RJD family, days after elder son Tej Pratap’s expulsion sparked controversy.
Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Yadav became a grandfather once more on Tuesday when his younger son, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, welcomed a baby boy. This came despite the fact that the Lalu Prasad Yadav family is currently dealing with a storm because of the recent controversies surrounding his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav.
Tejashwi shared the happy news on social media platform X, posting the first picture of the newborn along with an emotional note:
“Good Morning! The wait is finally over! So grateful, blessed and pleased to announce the arrival of our little boy. Jai Hanuman!”
Tejashwi Yadav and his wife, Rajshri Yadav, welcomed their baby boy at a private hospital in Kolkata. The couple’s first child, a daughter named Katyayani—after the sixth incarnation of Goddess Durga—was born during Navratri in 2023.
Wheras Lalu Yadav posted:
This moment of personal joy comes against a backdrop of family tension. Just two days ago, Lalu Yadav expelled his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav from the party and the family, following a public controversy over a social media post involving his long-time girlfriend. The episode had stirred political and personal uproar within the Yadav household.
However, Tuesday’s news brought some respite and warmth. Amid political uncertainties and personal strife, the birth of Tejashwi’s second child has offered a unifying and heartening moment for the family.
