Captain Shubhanshu Shukla Sends First Hindi Message from International Space Station

New Delhi: Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, currently aboard the International Space Station (ISS), delivered his first message in Hindi following his arrival earlier this week. The video, released by NASA, marks the first time an Indian astronaut has addressed the public in Hindi from the ISS.

In the message, Shukla said, “It looks very easy to stand here, but it is a little difficult, my head is a little heavy.” He noted some discomfort due to microgravity but added that it would improve in the coming days. “These are all very small things, and in a few days, we will get used to it,” he said.

Thanking the public, he said, “With your love and blessings, I have safely reached the International Space Station.” He also mentioned that this was the first stage of his journey and that over the next 14 days, he and his team would conduct scientific experiments. He said he would continue to share updates and communicate regularly from space.

Referring to the larger significance of the mission, Shukla said, “This stage also shows that this is a stage of our own space journey.” He spoke about carrying the Indian flag on his shoulder and expressed confidence that the public is with him in spirit. “I believe that all of you are with me… and I think that the next 14 days are going to be very exciting,” he added.

The astronaut is part of a mission launched aboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft earlier this week. His presence on the ISS is part of ongoing international cooperation in space research, with Indian participation through training and collaboration.

He concluded the message by saying, “Thank you, Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.”
