Addresses Media in Delhi After U.S. Visit; Warns Against Russian Threat to South Asia, Secures Bipartisan Backing in Washington

Renowned global peace advocate Dr. K.A. Paul held a compelling press conference at A.P. Bhavan in New Delhi, following a series of high-level engagements in Washington D.C. and New York with senior U.S. lawmakers, including both Republicans and Democrats, as well as international leaders.

Dr. Paul raised serious concerns over Russia’s alleged military support to Pakistan, accusing Moscow of undermining peace and stability in South Asia. “While India faces repeated terrorist attacks, Russia continues to support Pakistan’s military — this is a betrayal,” he asserted. He noted that his diplomatic outreach had led to widespread bipartisan support in the U.S., with 100% of Democratic leaders and 80% of Republican senators in favor of implementing stricter sanctions on Russia by the end of June.

Global Peace Summit Planned for New York

Dr. Paul also revealed his plan to organize the world’s largest Global Peace Summit in New York later this year, with the dates expected to be finalized by the end of this week. The summit will focus on resolving global conflicts, particularly in Ukraine and the Middle East, including the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

Accusations of Corruption in Telangana Politics

Turning to domestic issues, Dr. Paul referred to a viral video showing Telangana Congress MLA Mandula Samuel, which he claimed exposes a widespread culture of bribery among legislators. He further alleged that Telangana Chief Minister Ravindra Reddy, appointed by the Congress, maintains ideological links with the BJP. According to Dr. Paul, Reddy is preparing to defect from the Congress, taking 25–30 MLAs with him to potentially form a new government — a political maneuver reminiscent of recent developments in Maharashtra.

Urges Judiciary to Protect Democratic Values

Dr. Paul also criticized the Election Commission for failing to act against defecting legislators and called on India’s judiciary to intervene decisively. “It is time for the judiciary to rise in defense of our democracy and Constitution,” he said, appealing to judges to uphold constitutional integrity.

The press conference concluded with a strong appeal for united action — both nationally and internationally — to safeguard democratic institutions, enhance political accountability, and pursue peace and justice globally.
