New Delhi, In a press conference held in New Delhi, peace activist and evangelist Dr. K.A. Paul launched a strong critique of international arms deals and the political culture that prioritizes weapons over human lives. He singled out former U.S. President Donald Trump, accusing him and other world leaders of fueling conflicts for profit.

Dr. Paul alleged that Trump accepted a $400 million bribe in the form of a private jet from a wealthy Qatari in exchange for continued arms deals and political support. He claimed that during the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, Trump did nothing to promote peace. “Trump didn’t stop the India-Pakistan war—God and I did,” said Dr. Paul, accusing Trump of focusing on arms sales in the Middle East at the time. He warned that nations like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE are fearful of meeting the same fate as former leaders like Gaddafi or Saddam Hussein.

India Should Not Rely on Foreign Powers, Says Paul

Dr. Paul emphasized that India, as the world’s largest democracy, should no longer rely on other nations to resolve its issues. “India has the capacity to solve its own problems. If all political parties come together, India can lead the world with a message of peace,” he said.

The event saw the participation of leaders from various religious communities, including Supreme Court lawyer and Chairman of the Buddhist International Forum for Peace, Anand S. Zondhle, and prominent Muslim leader Ashrafi Akbar Ali.

Dr. Paul also took aim at IndiGo Airlines, accusing the carrier of preventing him from attending a peace summit in Turkey. He termed the incident a dangerous example of political interference in humanitarian efforts.

Global Peace and Prayer Day Announced for May 24

Amid his pointed accusations, Dr. Paul announced the observance of a 24-hour Global Prayer and Peace Day, beginning at 6 PM on May 24 and ending at 6 PM on May 25. He urged people around the world to dedicate at least five minutes to pray for peace in their homes, places of worship, or public spaces.

He also called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and opposition leaders to rise above political divisions and uphold India’s legacy of non-violence inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel.

“India can take care of itself,” Dr. Paul asserted, describing the nation as a powerful and promising democracy capable of leading a global movement for peace.

The event concluded with a collective appeal to make May 24 a starting point for global harmony, marking it annually as a “Day of Peace.”
