Dr. K.A. Paul Urges PM Modi to Dismiss Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu; Calls for De-escalation of Israel-Iran Conflict

In an emergency press conference held today at A.P. Bhavan in New Delhi, renowned international humanitarian and peace activist Dr. K.A. Paul called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek the immediate resignation of Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. Citing 17 reasons, Dr. Paul criticized the minister’s inexperience, stating that his lack of aviation knowledge has brought global embarrassment to India, especially in the wake of the tragic Air India Flight 171 crash that claimed the lives of nearly 300 people.
Addressing the media, Dr. Paul questioned why a critical portfolio like Civil Aviation was entrusted to a 37-year-old with no prior experience in the field.
“I strongly demand the resignation of Mr. Ram Mohan Naidu as Civil Aviation Minister. At just 37 years old, he lacks any relevant background in aviation. This sector requires expertise and accountability — I’ve personally owned a private aircraft since 1991,” said Dr. Paul.
The devastating crash resulted in the deaths of 169 Indian citizens, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese, 1 Canadian, and several international medical students. Dr. Paul described the incident as a global disgrace for India and emphasized the need for high-level accountability.
“This isn’t just about the 169 Indian lives lost. We also lost 53 British citizens, 7 Portuguese nationals, and one Canadian. Such an international tragedy demands ministerial accountability to preserve India’s global reputation,” he added.
In addition to domestic concerns, Dr. Paul expressed deep worry over escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. Urging immediate diplomatic efforts, he warned that a military confrontation could spark a global crisis.
“I appeal to Prime Minister Netanyahu to immediately cease airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. I also urge the Iranian leadership to avoid retaliatory actions that could escalate into a third world war. Humanity cannot afford another war — over 56 wars have already claimed millions of lives and cost trillions of dollars,” he stated.
Dr. Paul, who has previously visited Iran as a state guest and provided humanitarian aid there, cautioned that continued conflict between Israel and Iran could have far-reaching and devastating consequences, especially given the strategic alliances involved on both sides.
