Mercedes, BMW, Audi: Surging Demand for Luxury Vehicles Ahead of G20 Summit, Rental Costs Reach 100,000 Rupees Per Day

With just nine days remaining until the highly anticipated G20 Summit commences in the national capital, the need for luxury vehicles for transportation purposes has surged in the city. Due to the high demand driven by the impending arrival of world leaders and their delegations in the second week of September for the summit, the rental prices for luxury cars have skyrocketed to 100,000 rupees per day.
Among the various luxury car options, the Mercedes Maybach stands out as the most sought-after, with rental rates reaching up to 100,000 rupees for a single day, as reported by India Today. A provider of fleet services, responsible for furnishing luxury cars for foreign delegates, stated that luxury car models such as Mercedes, BMW, and Audi are in exceptionally high demand for the G20 summit.
According to the provider, Mercedes Maybach vehicles are available for rent for eight hours a day at a cost of 60,000 rupees. Opting for a full day’s rental would amount to approximately 100,000 rupees.
Additionally, the drivers have undergone specialized training and sensitization to cater to G20 delegations, being proficient in both Hindi and English.

Delhi to Welcome Global Leaders for G20 Summit
Renowned as an intergovernmental assembly of major developed and developing economies worldwide, the G20 Summit is poised to be a monumental gathering of global leaders in India. The participant countries consist of Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, the US, and the European Union.
These member countries collectively account for approximately 85% of the global GDP, over 75% of worldwide trade, and roughly two-thirds of the global population.
Extensive Preparations in Progress for G20 Summit
In anticipation of foreign delegates, over 3,500 hotel rooms have been reserved across hotels in Delhi and Gurugram. Furthermore, approximately 160 flights have been canceled during the event, scheduled to take place from September 8th to 10th.
LG Saxena Assesses Urban Enhancement Efforts
Meanwhile, Lt. Governor VK Saxena has conducted 54 inspections to evaluate the repair, restoration, and embellishment initiatives across the city for the G20 Summit. He initiated this effort by facilitating collaboration among various departments and agencies to ensure seamless coordination, a crucial aspect for this major event given the diverse array of authorities in Delhi.
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Public Works Department (PWD), Indian Air Force (IAF), and Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) are working together under the guidance and direction of the Lt. Governor. He has been convening meetings with these stakeholders at regular intervals.
Overall, 61 roads—including 36 in New Delhi, 5 in South-East, 6 in South, 5 in Central, 3 in Shahdara, 2 in South-West, and 4 in East District—have been earmarked for refurbishment and beautification. Similarly, 23 hotels—17 in New Delhi, 3 in South-East, and 1 each in South, Shahdara, and South-West districts—have been designated to accommodate delegates.
