North East Express Train Derails in Bihar: 4 Dead and 30 Injured

Four individuals lost their lives, and approximately 30 others sustained injuries when the North East Express train derailed in Bihar. The incident occurred near Raghunathpur station, close to Buxar, around 9:35 pm on Wednesday. The train had departed from Anand Vihar Terminus in Delhi and was en route to Kamakhya near Guwahati in Assam.

Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey reported that national and state disaster response teams have reached the accident site and that the injured individuals will be transported to AIIMS, Patna. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav has coordinated with the Disaster Management Department, Health Department, and district officials in Buxar and Bhojpur to expedite relief and rescue efforts.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s office stated that they are closely monitoring the unfortunate train derailment in Raghunathpur and are in contact with district authorities in Buxar and other agencies.
