PM Modi to Visit MP: To launch multiple development projects and attend 300th birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar

New Delhi/Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, May 31, to commemorate the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, one of India’s most revered women leaders. The visit will include the inauguration and foundation stone laying of multiple major development projects across the state.
PM Modi’s schedule in Madhya Pradesh
- 11:15 AM: PM Modi will arrive in Bhopal to participate in the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Women Empowerment Mahasammelan, an event celebrating women’s contributions and empowerment.
- At the event, the Prime Minister will release a commemorative postal stamp and a special ₹300 coin featuring Ahilyabai Holkar’s portrait.
- He will also present the National Devi Ahilyabai Award to a distinguished female artist for her contribution to tribal, folk, and traditional arts.
Key inaugurations and foundation stone ceremonies
- PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for projects worth ₹860 crore on the Kshipra River in Ujjain, as part of preparations for the upcoming Simhastha Mahakumbh 2028. The works include the construction of ghats, barrages, stop dams, and vented causeways to regulate river flow and improve infrastructure.
- To boost regional air connectivity, PM Modi will inaugurate Datia and Satna airports, opening up new opportunities in industry, tourism, education, and healthcare in the Vindhya region.
- In a major push for urban transport, he will also launch passenger services on the Yellow Line of the Indore Metro’s Super Priority Corridor. This is expected to reduce traffic congestion, lower pollution levels, and provide citizens with a more comfortable and efficient travel option.
- PM Modi will release over ₹480 crore as the first installment for the construction of 1,271 Atal Gram Su-शासन Bhawans (Good Governance Buildings) across village panchayats. These buildings will serve as permanent administrative hubs, enabling smoother governance, efficient record-keeping, and organized local meetings.
This high-impact visit underlines the central government’s commitment to women’s empowerment, infrastructure development, and rural governance in Madhya Pradesh.
