Uttarkashi Tunnel: Workers Face Prolonged Rescue Operation with 12-14 Hour Delays

In the ongoing Silkyara tunnel rescue mission, where 41 workers find themselves trapped, former Prime Minister’s Office advisor Bhaskar Khulbe has indicated that it will take an additional 12-14 hours to reach the location where the workers are stuck. Providing insight into the situation, Khulbe stated, “In the next 14-15 hours, we anticipate crossing the 60-meter mark. Subsequently, it will require an additional 12-14 hours for us to reach the precise location of the trapped workers. Following that, an additional 2-3 hours may be needed to assemble the workers and safely bring them out with the assistance of NDRF personnel.”
The workers have been stranded in the tunnel since Diwali night (November 12), when a segment of the under-construction tunnel collapsed, obstructing a 60-meter stretch on the Silkyara side with debris.
