Indian People Forum Bihar Council celebrates Bihar Diwas in Sharjah, UAE

Sharjah, UAE – March 22, 2025

The Indian People Forum (IPF) Bihar Council hosted a grand celebration of Bihar Diwas at Hotel Crystal Plaza, Sharjah, uniting the vibrant Bihari diaspora in the UAE. The event showcased Bihar’s rich heritage, cultural legacy, and growing global influence, drawing a large number of attendees.

The celebration featured prominent speakers, including Shri RK Mahto, Convenor of IPF Bihar Council and NRI industrialist; Shri Manish Sinha, Convenor of BJP Bihar NRI Cell; Smt. Shilpa Nair, Vice President of the IPF Central Committee; and Honbl. Mrs. Sultana Farooq Kazim, an Emirati international social activist. They emphasized Bihar’s historical significance, socio-economic progress, and the crucial role of NRIs in fostering global opportunities for Bihar’s development.

A key highlight of the evening was a mesmerizing performance by the Kalaranjani Group, which captivated the audience with soulful Bhojpuri, Maithili, and Magahi folk songs. Their renditions brought forth nostalgia and pride, celebrating Bihar’s deep-rooted musical traditions.

Several political leaders from Bihar shared their messages through video, recognizing the contributions of the Bihari community abroad. Messages were received from:

  • Shri Nitin Navin, Minister of Road Construction, Govt. of Bihar
  • Shri Dilip Jaisawal, President, BJP Bihar Unit
  • Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Former Union Minister & MP
  • Shri Ashwini Kumar Chaubey, Former Union Minister, Govt. of India
  • Dr. Sanjay Jaisawal, Member of Parliament
  • Shri Janardan Sikriwal, Member of Parliament
  • Ms. Chandan Tiwari, Renowned Singer

Their messages praised the IPF Bihar Council’s efforts in preserving Bihar’s cultural and historical legacy overseas.

Speakers also reflected on Bihar’s contributions to world history, from the wisdom of Lord Buddha and Guru Gobind Singh Ji to the political strategies of Chandragupta Maurya and Chanakya. Discussions focused on the role of the Bihari diaspora in Bihar’s future development and the responsibilities of NRIs in shaping the state’s progress.

The Bihar Diwas celebration in Sharjah reinforced the sense of unity and cultural pride among the Bihari community in the UAE. With a focus on collaboration and progress, the event underscored Bihar’s global influence and the pivotal role of its diaspora in shaping the state’s future.
