IPS Officer Manoj Sharma Reveals Bollywood Stars Attend Umang Police Event for Free

IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, famous for his role in the successful movie “12th Fail” alongside Vikrant Massey, has gained widespread recognition. The film, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, was a major hit in 2023, earning an impressive Rs 67 crore worldwide, as reported by sacnilk. Notably, Manoj Sharma plays a crucial role in organizing the renowned Umang, a prominent police event in Mumbai, where celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan attend and perform.

Manoj shared his experiences working with Bollywood’s elite in an interview with Lallantop. He revealed that despite their stardom, celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan attend Umang for free, as they are invited by the Mumbai Police. According to the IPS officer, the event, including the performances, lasts for about five hours.

In response to a question about celebrity behavior at official events, Manoj mentioned that all the celebrities he encountered were humble. He emphasized that big Bollywood stars willingly participate in Umang because of the invitation from the Mumbai Police. Manoj also expressed his admiration for Vikrant Massey, his co-star in “12th Fail,” stating that Vikrant became a part of his family and won everyone’s hearts, including his children.

Umang serves as a platform where celebrities from the television and Bollywood industries come together to entertain and salute officers and women in uniform for their dedication to ensuring the city’s safety throughout the year.
